I listen to my track in ACID and it sounds great. Then i render it as a wav with 44,100 and 16 bit stereo. When I play the rendered file in a media player, there is a high pitch tone playing in the background? HOw do I get rid of that in the rendering proccess?

I once had this problem using vst plugins that had been dx wrapped. i reinstalled the plugin using a different wrapper and it then worked.

You need to play with it more and try to work out either which channel or which plugin is causing the problems.

Gives us more info and i might be able to help.

I use the waves plug-ins also, and don't suffer those problem's?

Start to eliminate things' one by one . Try rendering a file with/without certain plug-ins until you find the culprit.

"I orignally started the song with 3.0......then upgraded to 4.0......will that make a difference?" - MAYBE

I don't use plugins in acid, I prefer using them in an mutitrack editor software in the pre-final mix. I render dozens of tracks (eitehr together or one by one, automaticaly or manualy) without any problems.
I know my answer does not help very much, but it points you in the Plugins direction.
