Change that ....when I open Acid and preview a sample it works ...... if I then play a tune I get the error I mentioned .....if I then try to preview a sample after the error,it will play but there is no sound ........

Sounds like a driver problem. Did you ensure that the driver was installed properly? Might want to also completely uninstall ACID and try reinstalling using the latest version of ACID 4.0 (the update actually can act as a standalone full version; keep your serial key handy).

Do you have any MIDI devices enabled on the MIDI prefs page?

Is the Windows mapper set to use the Gina? (In Control Panel "Sounds and Audio Devices")

Can you use the ASIO drivers for the Gina?

Do you have the Gina set up to use Pure Wave?

also, you might want to double check that you don't have the gina control panel set to lock the sampling rate or use one of the digital outs instead.

i use the same card with acid and it works very well with the MME settings. the ASIO drivers don't work reliably though so i'd advise to avoid them until the next round of patches. (they are functional, but jitter and skip.)
