Arrgg….Nothing….
Geeezzzzzzzlaawheeez.
Here are my settings:

GOAL CUBASE MASTER: ACID SLAVE

SONIC FOUNDRY:
Preferences>Midi

Top: Make these devices available for Midt track playback and Generate MIDI Clock
NONE SELECTED

Bottom Option:
Make these deveices available for MIDI Input:

PORT Midi Thru to
SONIC FOUNDRY MIDI ROUTER selected… None

NEXT TAB>Sync

Trigger from Midi Time Code:
I select the VMR from the pull down at 29.97

I then RIGHT CLICK the timeline on ACID and select MIDI TIME CODE IN

SX SETTINGS:

Synch Setup:(also at 29.97)
TIMECODE SOURCE:
Midi Time Code

Machine Control
NONE

Midi Machine Control Settings
Not Connected/IN
Not Connected/OUT

Midi Timecode Settings
NOT CONNECTED/Midi Input (also tried VMR1)

Send MIDI Timecode
None Selected (also tried VMR1)
Send MIDI Clock
None Selected (also tried VMR1)

**** also tried making Acid the MASTER….still…all Acid does is WAITING FOR TIME CODE.

In fact, even with the above settings and cubase closed…I sometimes get the message VMR in use by another application…yeah, the application is ACID..hello?!?!

Thanks everyone….

Appreciate the help…

Have you tried sync'ing ACID with another app, say, Sound Forge? (Same with Cubase.)

The Virtual MIDI Router and Cubase don't work together. It has to do with how Cubase opens and access MIDI ports. You will have to look for a third party Virtual MIDI device such as MIDI OX or Hubi's Loop back.

I believe this is discussed in our FAQ.

Thanks...

But I downloaded the HUB Loop back and when I attempt to install, it says it's missing a *.dll file. I downloaded from another site, just to be sure. I'm using windows XP.

I also downloaded MidiOX but it seems to be somewhat overwhelming to figure out - any feedback or advice to get SX/Nuendo and Acid to work would be greatly appreciated. Master/Slave or vice versa...
thanks

hmmm yeah i had the same problem, hubis doesnt work with XP. but Midi Yoke does.

I have had acid and reason 2 sync together so it should work with Cubase.

Give that a blast.

OK, well I can get Acid to SYNCH if its the master..using VMR or Midi Yoke...BUT

but Acid's (master) doesn't reflect in Cubase. i.e. Acid 140bmp, Cubase remains the same. Is this how it is? ? The work around of course is to set the tempo manually in Cubase SX.

Why though can't I get SX to be the master?

and setting the tempo manual is that just how it is???

Lastly, are we going to see rewire or VST does anyone know?

thanks....

one step closer...

From your description, you are setting ACID up to generate MIDI Time Code. Only Generating MIDI clock will permit tempo information to be communicated to slaves.
