Everytime I'm starting AcidPro I get that CTASIO Warning saying that my SBLive Value doesn't support ASIO. It's annoying me. I tryed to uninstall/install to solve that trouble with no success. How to get rid of this? Any help please? Thanks in advance. |

This warning is output by the Creative Labs ASIO driver. If the driver is installed but the hardware isn't, then you will get this notification when ACID attempts to enumerate available ASIO drivers. You need to uninstall the ASIO driver. I am guessing that you had an Audigy installed or something that attempted to install these drivers. You can also remove the ASIO driver entry in your registry. This key is located: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO There will be an entry that will have "Creative" or Audigy in its name. Delete this entry to remove the driver. Peter |

Oh yeah! Rock'n'roll. Thanks! The registry key was deleted and now that warning doesn't pop-up anymore. Now, some questions: What is for ASIO? My sound card is a SB Live Value running Audigy drivers. I installed the drivers only from Audigy. Does it means that my card does not support ASIO? Or do I need to run the Audigy setup to have ASIO support? |

Peter, Thank you so much for the answer to this problem. I too had this happen and figured it was something I just had to live with. It's gone now! Steve |

You are using the Audigy drivers with the SBLive? You should probably download the SBLive driver set from Creative and use that. ASIO is a low latency driver model that talks directly to the hardware. It was developed by Steinberg. Creative does not supply ASIO drivers for the SBLive, only the Audigy. There are third party ASIO drivers for the SBLive. The importance of lower latency drivers for ACID is when you want to use softsynths and play them "live" from an external keyboard (or from the UI of the soft synth.) If the latency is much more that 5-10 ms, then you will hear a very noticable delay from when you hit a key on your keyboard and when the note is actually heard from ACID. Peter |

"You are using the Audigy drivers with the SBLive? You should probably download the SBLive driver set from Creative and use that." Like I said before, I really appreciate your help... Yeah! Audigy drivers works fine with SBLive Value! Ok... I got that ASIO trouble running Acid but... anyway, take a look at this: http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9427 http://kxproject.spb.ru/index.php?skip=1 Why not to try it? I have a GForce MX400 card running a thirdy-party Omega Drivers and I'm very happy! I'm a tweakin guy, oh yeah. :) |

You're welcome to try any drivers you want with your card even if they don't match, if it works for you (and more power to you). If it doesn't work, however, or you get some unexplainable problems, the first advice you'd get is to download the proper drivers. HTH, Joel |
