Is it possible to automate parameters of vst plugins in Acid and how? Is there a way of using envelopes such as the vol/pan envelopes to control parameters? Thanks...

You mean VST effects themselves? I know you can use VST effects via wrappers, but are they automatable (even if the VST effect supports it)? I don't really know. I want to lean towards, "no." Anyone?
