Ok, I downloaded the NT/2000 virtual midi driver...... Installed if fine. Can't get SX and Acid to do anything, either with one as the slave or vice-versa. Can someone please help???? IT's a nightmare as I can't understand why a product so good as acid seems to be in the dark ages (in synch terms) compared to many of the other products out there. (Reason, Live 2, Virtual Instruments, Gigastudio, Kontackt, Ab Synth...etc...) Just the fact that the virtual driver is dated 1997 and none for XP has me worried. Also, what is the truth to the rumor that this division is not doing well is SF? Thanks |

Did you go to the Sync tab under Options>Preferences and specify the Virtual MIDI Router (VMR) as the output device? Subsequently, did you set up the VMR as the input device in the receiving app? Those who've been using the VMR for NT/2000 haven't had any problems in XP. Rumors are rumors and nothing more. Whatever you do, don't believe anything you hear unless it comes straight from SoFo themselves. To tell the truth, all the DAW software and hardware companies are feeling the pinch some. (Look at Steinberg being absorbed by Pinnacle, for example.) HTH, Iacobus |

Yes and I keep getting this message.... "...The output device 1: Sonic Foundry MIDI Router is in use by another application...." |

I right clicked the time line (Acid) and selected midi timecode in...and it just sits and sits.... does anyone have a clue? This is really frustrating and I would hate to have to buy Live 2 just for drum loops. The tech support was less than stellar...somewhat stunned that they (SF) are clueless about Cubase..... sigh... |

you have to go into cubase and DESELECT the vmr as output.also make sure you DESELECT any midi ports (sx and acid cant share the same midi ports) |

Actually, you can get Cubase and ACID to work together with the VMR if you trick Cubase. It's true- Cubase does not like sharing. So, to get around this- Open up ACID and get your sync settings all set up. Enable trigger (or whichever you are trying to do). NOW open Cubase. You should be able to trigger ACID from Cubase with the VMR now. Be warned- if you change your sync settings (framerate is ok, but say switching which app is the master) you might have to go through the whole open app process again. Happy mixing, Jenn |
