Subject:Drum Tools 6/8 fills out of time

Anyone ever worked with this loop CD? I'm finding that that the 6/8 fills just do not work in 6/8 time no matter what grid spacing they are lined up to?

Is that an older loop libary? How many beats is the Explorer telling you what the file is? Even so, the Explorer won't tell you exactly what kind of note originally received one beat.

For example, if a loop was made with a 4/4 time signature in mind and made up of 4 beats (essentially covering one measure), that same exact loop will take up a total of 8 beats in a 6/8 sig, or 1 and 1/3 measures.

We're simply transposing here. One beat in quarter note time = two beats in eighth note time. Since our original loop was four beats in quarter note time, it's now doubled to eight beats.

Because there are only 6 beats per measure, we can only fit 6 of those 8 beats of the loop, filling in two more beats in the next measure.

Thanks Iacobus. Yes, I guess it's an older library.

To take a simple example if one bar has a basic 6/8 bass drum hi-hat and snare beat and I line up one of the fills which is basically half a bar fill and half a bar of silence then they are in the wrong tempo against each other.

One was acidised at 93 bpm and the other at 115. I thought the loops were supposed to work with each other?

I'm keeping Acid at 4/4 and the basic 6/8 loop = 1 bar in Acid.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing here but is there a workaround for this?

Do you want to email that exact loop to me? Maybe I can analyze and suggest a course of action.
