I don't know much about this software, but if you want 3d, it looks good. This is version 3.2 (they are up to version 6). YOu have to register, but it is free.

How do you make these links active. I did one the other day and couldn't figure it out.

Don't know about trueSpace 3.2, but I have 4.3 and it's awesome! I do know that the interface changed dramatically with version 4, so if you like 3.2 at all, you might want to check out 4. It's very affordable from Caligari's Web site because it's an old version. The new version (6.5) is even better!

3.2 and 4 were both decent 3D packages in their time. But in my opinion Caligari is begining to have some simplification issues with thier current interface. Version 6.5 is extremely powerful, but the icon based interface is becoming too cluttered.

For the features it provides, it's probably the most economical, but as far as the learning curve, I've had problems keeping the interface in a logical layout.

I've recently purchased a copy of Maxon's Cinema 4D release 8. The basic package has almost the same features as trueSpace 6.5 but you can add modules to move on up in the big boys range of features. However, the interface of Cinema 4D is what has really impressed me.

The clean look and organization of the interface of Cinema 4D R8 compared to the other 3D packages, kind of reminds me of the difference between the clean look and organization of Vegas 4 compared to the other NLE's.

Can only agree with you here JBJ, after trying the TS 6.5 demo and absolutely hating the interface and instability! I am still getting almost daily propaganda from Caligari for TS 6.5 after downloading the demo...they reek of desperation bigtime!Buy me now before we go broke....HA HA... I quickly settled on C4D as it is streets ahead in just about everything, and considering the base package is not too much more than TS , it is a no-brainer to go with Cinema. Also , you can add modules and plugins as you need them.

Cinema is now up there with the big boys (Maya, Softimage, Lightwave....athough purists may disagree me me....ok the CA tools need work...MOCCA is a good start!) and is the fastest, most accessable 3d app going. Crashing this baby is like trying to crash Vegas...damn near impossible!
The integration with After Effects is second to none....the Holy Trinity for me is now C4D-After Effects-Vegas.......End rant...
