Subject:When I push Play in the Event window, audio does not play back

in the event window, I push play, but events do not play, even though the cursor progresses through the tracks/events. Volume is on, sound card is working, I can't find a problem with Options, arrgg this is rather frustrating, can anyone help please? thanks for anything you can offer,

Don't know about an "Event" window, but be sure the Preview fader is assigned to a specific hardware output in order to hear anything out of, say, the Explorer window. (You using ACID Pro?)
