Subject:Edited loops have blank bits at beginning and end

When i edit a loop, either with cool edit pro or Sound Forge, when i open it in Acid pro there seems to be a small blank space at the beginning and end of the loop. This is highly annoying as the loop isn't smooth and jumps at the blank bits.

Have i missed something??

Is there something i need to do??

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

p.s. All i have been doing is opening an mp3 or WAV...and cutting the bits out i don't want, then i save it.

Are you saving them as MP3 files? If so, don't. Always save loops as WAV files. The MP3 format requires a short silence at the beginning and end of the file.

Thanks a lot chienworks. Yes i was saving them as mp3 files. Something quite basic but baffled me nonetheless.
