Why didn't you replace your sound card instead?

im not sure it was totally my sound card, what was happening was i would record a track, then when i recorded another track over it, the next track was delayed (i think thats called latency)

What do you mean specifically when you say “record a track?

Right, but are you recording them with a mic, playing VSTi parts in with your keyboard, bouncing loop tracks to disk… What?

To answer your original question, Acid 4 files cannot be opened in Acid 3. They're not backwards compatible.

Ditto what Kelly said. You cannot open files created in ACID 4.0 in ACID 3.0.

Have you tried switching to the Windows Classic (or WDM) driver model? Some vendors' ASIO drivers produce undesirable results in ACID when recording digital audio. (Or are you recording MIDI? Your previous posts weren't too clear on this.)

If you're recording VSTi's, try reducing the latency of your soundcard.

Iacobus
