Subject:Motu 896 Compatability ? Posted by: musiciantly Date:4/2/2003 2:16:41 AM I was wondering if anyone has used / is using the Motu 896 Firewire Interface with Acid Pro 4.0 ? I haven't been able to record into Acid from it. Is it posssible to multi track with it into Acid? Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong? Thanks so much. :)
Subject:RE: Motu 896 Compatability ? Reply by: Spy Date:4/2/2003 7:56:30 AM Hi, I'm not sure about the 896/828 but I have the 2408 core system with Pro 4.0b and have (so far) had no problems. Does your system incorporate a MOTU PCI or is your firewire port part of your PC? If it's the latter it may be that your firewire connection is incompatible with either Acid, the MOTU or both. Like I said, I'm not sure, so don't take what I say as gospel. One Love, Spy!

Could it be the chip in the card? I haven't been able to get the interface to work with any of my programs yet. I'm new to the interface thing so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Can you select any input specifically? (Be sure to go the Audio tab under Options>Preferences on the menu bar and select the desired driver model, Windows Classic (WDM) or ASIO.) HTH, Iacobus
Subject:RE: Motu 896 Compatability ? Reply by: musiciantly Date:4/3/2003 12:26:21 AM I can't select any input. I did what you had said but I don't see Motu on the drop down menu. I did install the drivers. I don't see the ASIO drivers in the control panel.

They claim that "WDM, WAVE, ASIO and GSIF drivers" are included. (Be absolutely sure you follow the included instructions in the ReadMe.) HTH, Iacobus
