1) I can use WAVs for sample sounds, but can't seem to save things as wav or MPEGs. Anybody know anything about this?

2) I can re-name tracks after I've pulled them into a project. But I can't edit the names of the initial tracks at all. IE, I record GUITAR.1, then want to re-name it SLIDE.1 and am not able to. Any help with this?

1) You cannot save in MPEG format in ACID DJ 3.0. (Valid formats are WAV, WMA, MP3 and RM.) Only ACID Pro can do MPEG-1 and 2 (and then you have to buy the MainConcept plug-in in order to do so).

Are you rendering out rather than saving?

2) Try right-clicking the file in the Explorer window and choosing, "Rename."

Thanks, Iacobus.

I'm going to be tinkering with this -- I was under the impression I also couldn't save as MP3 or WAVs either. I'll let you know what happens.

As to re-naming: it takes the new name normally, then as I try to close up that new name I get an error message of some sort "YOU CAN'T DO THAT" type of thing. I'll do it again and let you know exactly what it says.

Hey Iacobus:

When I try to "SAVE AS" I can only choose between "ACID PROJECT (.acd)" or "ACID PROJECT With EMBEDDED MEDIA (.acd.zip)"

I don't have any other choices, such as WAV or MP3.(These would seem most easy to deal with, ie burn to CD, work and re-edit etc in other programs.)

Am I not getting something?

***Also: if you happen to know --
After I delete tracks, ACID keeps what appear to be useless files with the same name as the deleted track. (guitar.wav becomes guitar.sfk) These things are taking up space in my ACID folder. (They're not viewable from within the ACID AP itself.) Are the .sfk files safe to delete? What on earth are they anyway? Can I delete them automatically instead of by hand?

Use File>Render As on the menu bar to render your project in WAV or MP3 format.

KB article on SFK files. In short, they're safe to delete.

Iacobus
