It's available. Priced about $600. According to the advertising it will handle multiple streams, subtitles and import Photoshop files with layering intact. I would be curious to demo and see how it is to use. Interesting to note that it's only available on PCs.

Wobblyboy,

The currently listed price for Adobe Encore DVD is $549 and the shipping date is given as "Third Quarter 2003". That could be next fall if the programmers don't slip their schedule. It is available only for Windows XP platforms. That simplifies things for Adobe's programmers. We should all convert to WinXP anyway. It converts audio to Dolby, but I didn't see anything about support for AC3 or 5.1 surround. It tightly integrates with Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects. Potential DVD Architect customers probably will also consider Encore DVD as a possible alternative.

Unfortunately, it looks like the feature set will far surpass DVDA. I thought about getting DVDA, but I think for now I'll stick with my DVDIt LE until Encore comes out. I'll probably still get Vegas+DVD just to get the AC-3 encoder though.
