I know how to eliminate vocals from a track using soudforge5 (vocal cut preset in channel converter) - but how can I do the opposite of this and just leave myself with the vocals ? I've been told to create a track without the vocals then reverse its polarity and mix with the track containing both backing and vocals. However this doesn't seem to work for me even though it makes sense. The only thing I can think of is that I'm not reversing the polarity properly. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Mike. |

The problem you have is that the "vocals only" track is +Left-Right, and the mono version is +Left+Right. So when you subtract the first from the second you end up with +Right+Right, in other words, just the full right channel. |

So basically it can't be done. Oh well - thanks anyway. |
