Can't See Effects In Vegas 4

When using Vegas 4 I understand what is meant by assigning an effect to a
track, event, media in the pool etc. When I assign say the brightness filter
and pull the sliders I don't see any change. When I play the timeline I
don't see any change. When I render the clip there is no change. How do I
make it show the change? I've read everything in the manual and help file
concerning this and I have no clue.

Thanks,
Al Brassell

When the "Video window" is docked, there is a button that needs to be clicked on in order to not bybass the effects. I don't have my computer running right now to be more specific, but if you click the right button, it will fix it. I know because I had the same issue but figured it out.

mmm... mabe you "bypass every effect" button is on, considering you got a video bus track on your timeline (which can be hidden completely at the bottom of your timeline)? Or: if you open your track fx window, just make sure the effect chain box (on top of the window) is checked... And your keys, concerning the fx in question; jump from one to another via the fx window and watch the sliders in the fx itself ; sometimes, everything moves only at the last key so you have to delete every key thats ont the left andslide the "effective" key to the left.
Hope that helps, cause I don't otherwise see what it could be !
