I tried to back up the write drive of my computer the other day- this has all of my getmedia loops, 8-packs, and a ton of acid zip files- right under 5 gigabytes altogether- 8 cd/r's - i would like to protect it in a form outside of my computer- what would be best, in terms of stability, duration, portability with other computers- zip drive, dvd, external hard drive? If i was to take some of my files to a mastering studio- what form would they want to see it in?

Having about 10GB worth of audio projects/tracks and 50GB of tweaked drum loops I went with a DVD-writer and burnt the waves uncompressed on duplicate backups.
One set at home and the other at work.
When you've experienced your first major harddisk disaster you get kind of paranoid :-)
