I am betting there is something simple I am overlooking, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to encode an ac3 file from 6 mono streams. When I import and assign the channels and hit play, the files are nice and loud and clear, after I encode the levels are very quiet. Its a HUGE volume attenuation. I can't figure out why I am losing so much signal. Please advise. |

Are you using a custom template for encoding your AC-3 content, or one of the built in templates (e.g. 5.1 Surround DVD)? Regardless, it could be that the current encoder settings for dynamic compression, along with the dialog normalization setting, is causing this large attenuation you're experiencing. I'd try experimenting with your dialog normalization setting first, just to see how that effects the resultant AC-3 decoding. Let me know if this works for you. -pj |
