Subject:No playback of loops in preview

I'm running ACID 4.0 (Bld 317) on a P4 2.4 mhz/ 1 gig ram under win xp pro using a M-Audio 2496. My drives are 7200 rpm.

Does anyone know why when I preview a loop I don't hear it? I've double clicked on some of the loops then right clicked to get it to sf 6.0. I hear it when I play it there. I also don't hear it when I paintbrush it across a couple of measures.

It's hit or miss. Sometimes the file will play back but if I try to preview another file and go back and preview the one I previously heard, it doesn't playback.

I looked under preferences and under the audio tab, the audio device type is M Audio Delta ASIO. My only other choices are Microsoft Sound Mapper and Windows Classic Wave Driver. Under Sound and Device Properties Audio Tab, The Audio Sound playback device is the M-Audio AP Delta Multichannel.

This is all very strange, I've never experienced this problem before in any other release of ACID.

Acid Family, your help would be greatly appreciated... now I forgot the idea I was trying to find a beat for.

Thanx

in ACID's Device settings, try switching from Delta ASIO drivers to Windows Classic Wave driver. when you select this you should be able to choose the Delta Multichannel drivers in the drop-down menu's right below that. might solve your problem.
