Since my Lexicon Core 2 soundcard is basically a loss...would anyone have 3-4 suggestions on soundcards that would work best with my system?

Asus 600mhz pentium 3
640 megs ram
Maxtor 40gig 7200rpm
Lexicon Core 2 24bit
Piece of S**T 8meg video card.

M-Audio Audiophile 2496 or Echo Mia. Echo has also just released a MIA+MIDI card.

If they still make it, it's old technology tho, Emagic's AW2 card; nothing fancy, easy on the pocket book and even good "und XP"...

nah i'd stay away from the AW2. outdated specs and emagic is phasing out pc support.

the sound card i use most is the terratec ewx 24/96. if you only need stereo ins/out it's the best bang for your buck. you can find them for about $140 brand-new

great support, good specs, drivers, and software bundled. it has midi, can send a dts or ac3 stream through the digital outs, and there's even a phono pre-amp available for it if you want to rip vinyl.
