Vegas 4 with Pana AGDVX1000?

I have a friend who is planning to buy a the Pana Dvx1000 or the Sony PD150 3CCD PAL camcorder.
He will be using Vegas 4 to edit the clips, the question is what is the settings should he setup in the "project video properties" to work on the native 24p mode film look of the DVX1000? should it be normal Pal DV template? or should it be customize to Pal DV with progressive field order?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Shaun:

The AG-DVX100 does not use PAL mode, it's NTSC through and through (although a PAL version, I hear, might be coming out, but it won't do 24p). You can edit the 24p (and 60i and 30p) footage in Vegas today, at 60i (or 30p for 30p). Any titles or FX will also be at 60i. You can also convert the "24p in DV" to true 24p using the DVFilm tool, and then edit that in Vegas. At some point in the future when we support the "24p in DV" directly you will be able to skip the DVFilm step.

Thanks for the explanation Dennis. As you pointed that the pana is NTSC only for 24p and I would have to use a 3rd party plug-in,I think that my friend will have to wait a little longer before making any purchase decision. The sony pd150 seems like another good deal too....decisions decisions...
