Subject:MORE INTSTRUMENTS!! HELP!

Does anyone know any sites that have freeware soft synth VST instruments? I just need a simple one with guitar, piano, strings, etc. My DLS instruments wont change, it's stuck on piano and all the soft synths I've found are for techno music. Help me please!! Thanks.

Try to find a copy of SampleTank Free. It appears sometimes on the Computer Music cover disc. It's great for what you are asking.

As for the DLS synth being stuck on Piano, are you using the latest build? Because I had that problem until I updated to 4.0b and now it works fine. I just have to click on the sound for it to load.

The mda piano and mda epiano are both nice freeware plugins for piano sounds. They can be found at the Pluginspot.

Go to www.sampletank.com and click on their download link. It will take you to the SampleTank Free download, plus all the free instruments. Be forewarned, though, that you will then not be able to stand it until you buy XL! Even if (like with me) there is no way in hell you can afford it...I mean, we CAN live without FOOD and gasoline can't we? ;) At least for a while.... (I lasted about two months before I bought XL.)

In the meantime, check out this. It is very, very cool and extends your VSTi instrument collection substantially.
