Subject:How can I split a stereo track in Acid 3?

Im recording through the 2 inputs of my Audiophile card and it comes up as one track in Acid. How can I have it split? (did that make any sense?)

Also, I like to monitor my acoustic electric. How can I hear an effected signal through the monitors?

And finally,....Can anyone recommend some great plugins? All I have is the stock ones....Something that helps the full mixdown would be cool

Thanks!

Which version of ACID 3.0? If you have ACID Pro 3.0, Sound Forge XP Studio 5.0 should have been included with it. You could use that to split a file as you see fit—one mono into two stereo, one stereo into two mono, etc.).

Go into the Delta Control Panel and enable (unmute) the desired input your acoustic electric is on and turn its sliders up.

iZotope Ozone is a great mastering plug-in. A little pricey but worth it.

I can actually hear my guitar through the monitors, I just can't put any effects on the signal and hear it. The only way I can hear the effects (reverb) is if I record...THEN on playback I can hear the reverb. Please be specific, for I am completely new to this.

OH, I have Acid Pro 3.0, Vegas 2.0 and Sound Forge 6

THANK YOU!!!!

Ah. ACID Pro 3.0, Sound Forge 6.0, and Vegas 2.0 do not have the ability to do "input monitoring". Vegas 4.0 does have this feature, however. I suspect later versions of SoFo's other apps will also.

If you can't wait, you could pick up a mixer with built-in FX so that you can record dry or wet as you see fit.
