Okay, I installed an M-Audio Quattro and have had a heck of a time figuring out how to make it work with acid (Pro 4.0b) Here's the deal, I am trying to record 24 bit @ 48,000 khz, but when I open the record dialog box both left and right input channels are at a constant red-line at 0.0 db. No guitar signal is even coming through the device. What is the deal? I recorded at 16 bit and it was fine. But the reason I spent the dough was to be able to record at 24 bit. I have tried the drivers from the disk that came with, the 1.26 AND 1.28 (beta) drivers from the web site. None of them solve the problem. HELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP................ Fresnog |

Fresnog, This is "somewhat" of a known issue for the Quattro with AcidP4. Mine exhibits the EXACT symptoms using ASIO @ 24 bit. I use the ASIO 16 bit mode for normal use of VSTi triggering......loop editing, and then WDM/MME 24 bit for AUDIO recording from external synths. I realize that you don't get to use all 4 Ins/Outs(direct monitor feature)when using the Win Classic Wave driver, but until(if ever) M-Audio/SoFo can fix this.......... Don't forget to send an email describing the symptoms to testing@m-audio.com. They finally replied to one of my emails, wanting to know CPU type. I'm using AMD cpu's and Win XP on both systems that exhibit this problem. Service pack or no service pack, DirX 8.1 or 9..........doesn't matter. Sorry couldn't be more help. Tryied to record with the ASIO drivers in 24 bit. With the Quattro, the MME drivers provided too much latency for any recording with existing tracks at all. I ended up way behind my drum tracks..... Plus, if I remember correctly, if I used the MME driver set with the Quattro, there was no 24 bit option in thier control panel. 16 bit by default, therefore, the ASIO drivers were required for attempting to record 24 bit. This is what I got from M Audio: I believe this may be a software specific malfunction. Have you contacted Sonic Foundry? Tech Support M-Audio This is what I sent to M Audio: It sounds like a driver issue. I will do some digging and see if I can find out what is up. Peter ?????? Fresnog |
