Subject:MIDI Keyboard

Hmm, sort of a newbie here,
I have Acid Pro 4.0b, and a Casio CTK-573 MIDI Keyboard. I'm trying to hook up the keyboard to my PC, which has a Creative CT5880 card (integrated w/ the Motherboard), through the joystick port with an adapter. I'm trying to put down a MIDI track into Acid, along w/ all of the other loops that I have for a project. Does anybody have any advice, am going about this all wrong, do I need more hardware, am I using the wrong keyboard? Any advice would be helpful.

Did you add a DLS soft synth to route the MIDI track to? (You can also use a free VSTi, which would be used in the same manner.) Use the Insert Soft Synth button in the Mixer.

No, I'm not quite sure how to work with MIDI in Acid. Would I insert a new MIDI track, and then select the softsynth?

I think you must add a new soft synth before you can record midi. Then route your midi through that soft synth bus.
