I think time was against them on the V4 release date.
It's been on my wish list too.

cant it be written using the script thing? or would it not work because splits were not included?

anyhow, Sonar and Samplitude's newest versions allegedly open PT files. I dont know of a utility to convert between sonar and vegas

lol.. I just came to the board today to post about this. Alas, others have already beat me to it.

I can't even BEGIN to describe how handy this would come in handy on some projects I'm working on right now...

Please, Peter, what's the news?

now the enemy will be saving as " *.pts " instead of " *.OMF " to keep us from being able to do this

Hello Nick,

You don't believe that is to high the price of the AVTransfer?.

I tried the demo and don't work well with Vegas 4

Cheers
nlamartina wrote on 3/9/2003, 9:05 PM
No one mentioned in the thread that price was of concern to them. I'm simply presenting information. For the purpose though, yeah, I think that's an outrageous price. But it's an option nonetheless.

HURRY UP AND GET BROADCAST WAVE IMPLEMENTED BEFORE I HAVE TO SWITCH TO SONAR.
I think Sonar XL2.0 can import broadcast wave files, then re-save them - you then save the project in EDL format I am told, which Vegas can then Read, has anyone tried this yet?

Any News when this will be available?

have you tried OMF I/O using the new version of EDL Convert?

Not Yet,
I really need to import Broadcast Wave directly into Vegas.....
I'd rather not have to buy Sonar, just to import these tracks in,
from my Mackie 2496 Recorder...and then save in EDL, then convert
that into Vegas Video, etc....

Any New News On This Yet?

mackie 2496: we don't have that unit here but I'd like to have a short sample file to check a couple of things. If you could, please send a short clip to drdropout@sonicfoundry.com. I promise nothing...

.bwf support would open up an enormous market for Vegas...All Mackie hardware recorder files could then be imported in non-realtime and aligned by their native tc addresses. I know of several people [including myself] that would much prefer to record on a standalone, faster/simpler-to-use box like the mackie, and then edit and mix in Vegas. Lack of .bwf support makes that a much less appealing option for now...

And Vegas guys...If you're not already working on .aaf import/export, you're likely to miss a rather big boat.

Thanks for any quick efforts toward .bwf support!

I posted this on the OMF page too, by mistake:

Nuendo V2 supports DX and BWF among others. Digital Performer can open protools session files. Mackie HD makes BWF and PT files aval for users. I'm happy with Vegas V2 (since no features have really been added since then) and would upgrade if there was BWF support.
Sony/SonicFoundry - it's up to you. There are many choices of DAW out there. It reminds me of how MAC had a 10 year leg up on IBM and still got squashed cuz they sat on their laurels. You have a great product. Please step up and deliver BWF and PT session support for your loyal customers - while they're still here!

I'm happy to help with any interchange shoot outs - let me know if you still need a file. It should be a standard *.wav with a timestamp.

Hello Sonic Foundry

I work with radio software support. Our software saves in BWF.
Implementing BWF would enable our clients to use your software to open audio from our dbase.

So far can not suggest any of our clients to use your software for your products. saving MP2 is OK, but not enough. clients like big national broadcasters need BWF.

Any timetable?

Go here...http://www.ap-sound.de/downloads.htm...for an EDL convertion app supporting Vegas that may, or may not, get your rocks off. Its free, so you have nothing but time to lose. German site, but has English text as well and the app is in English.

Do we have to get out the Pitchforks and Torches?
I NEED THIS TO EVER MAKE MONEY WITH MY STUDIO.

I will see if I can get a DVD-R backup of the tracks dumped right from my mackie SDR out to you with the entire Small project I am working on. Please send me your snail mail address. Thanks!!

P.S. - you might consider a feature to directly import tracks from the mackie SDr, MDR, HDR recorders themselves. I am sure everyone would appreciate that, just click on theproject, hit the transfer button, and everything pulls up in time, and in the proper place. Please speak to mackie about this. Thanks!!

Uh, then you selected the wrong tool if you MUST have support for this format today.

If you are really loosing that much money, I would recommend you invest in another tool ASAP. At $300 a day you can cover your cost for a new tool in 2 days easy, and make tons of money. No brainer if you ask me.

We are considering support for BW, but it wont be until 5.0.
