Subject:Video file size limitations in ACID Pro 4.0

Is there a limit to the size of a video file opened in ACID Pro 4.0? I have tried opening 200MB Quicktime and AVI files, and it causes ACID to eventually lock up. It appears to open successfully, but then it freezes up.

Also, I hear there is a plug-in for MPEG files, but is that for just creating MPEG files or for opening as well.

Thanks,
Robert

AFAIK, there are no file size limitations as far as video is concerned. (Tried any of my suggestions thus far?)

The MainConcept MPEG plug-in is for creating and opening/working with MPEG files in ACID Pro. It's quite speedy, IMO.

Thanks. I spoke with Tech Support and they told me that AVI files (dv-compressed) were the ideal file type fo importing video into ACID. He said that, although MPEG files are smaller, ACID has to encode the entire file rather than encoding incrementally. Therefore, he told me to try the AVI solution; I'll try that on Monday.

Thanks,
Robert
