Subject:SONIC FOUNDRY should live forever Posted by: skysurfer Date:3/2/2003 6:28:49 AM acid and vegas are the only two pieces of audiosoftware that inspire me making music (i find all the rest of the apps out there disgusting (GUI), disturbing and non-working (except SX for midi) and if you ever wanna get REALLY pissed off about bugs try Samplitude....and you will NEVER EVER complain about a single bug in a SoFo soft. Subject:RE: SONIC FOUNDRY should live forever Reply by: stusy Date:3/2/2003 10:05:16 AM I would have to agree with this, but you know, if I were to upg to 2.2 from my 131 sonar, which again I must say I no longer have IN my computer, and no tellin what sort of maladies would happen were I to redux the install, it's $79 I think, and my geniesoft overture 2 to 3 is $79 for the box, $69 for the download, and then there's a new CPU/MOBO in the usual works, cuz I've had this one a year and half now, and tho it works great 1.8 AMD AthlonXP, 512 DDRam, a7a266, 2 hard drives @ 7200, and an AW2 soundcard (or PCI audio interface)...my point is, and I still have 98SE, and even THAT I'm hemmin and hawin on, shuckin away my previous experience...you know, it's no small fete these days to stick with JUST ONE THING to bolster what one already has...I like sofo's products, and will continue to purchase from them, but once they lose the 98SE support, they'll have lost me, and I'll see where I'm at then...see, it's not just a matter of upgrades and updates for me...it's whole 'nother ball of wax, and wax is slippery...I don't think I would have all the products I do without their support, which I consider stellar in all ways so far...

They want out of that portion of the business ASAP. Maybe the new guys will be as inspired and supportive. Maybe Michael Jackson will grow a new nose.
