also keep receiving same crash when using the explorer and opening acid projects outside the explorer. (like, FILE-OPEN-ACID PROJECT=HANGS)
any ideas?

i was using the track properties to adjust the stretching when that error occured.

Sounds like a driver conflict of sorts with hardware in your system. What's in your system? Are resources being shared amongst devices? Try installing updated drivers for any hardware in your system as well.

Locate the file mmids.drv on your system.
Right click and select properties on it.

This should tell you something about what this file is for. Post here what you find.
