You know what..? I've been chastised about this, and they'll be more salt sprayers about this as well, but it's gettin to the point that I don't give a d___ anymore...3 or usually more times per day, 7 days a week, I check, to see for updates in acid 4b, batch converter 5b, Noise reduc 2.0a, CD Arch 5.0, soundforge 6d and vegas video 3c; weekends, holidays, early morning, nites, whenever...now, some may say get a life, but when you check the download section of SOFO that much, and it is pretty fine print, and you look for all those things in hope that ONE DAY, you'll see an update, and get no response except chastisements and wherewithalls, instead of, "well, we think an update for such and such will be in about a week", or "don't even bother looking for an update for batch converter, that's done" or "forget VV3 now that V4 is out"...hey, ANYTHING like that, is better than havin an imaginary carrot afore the horse, whether contrived or not...

I understand your frustration, Stuart, but remember that, as with any software title, there's always the possibility of more bugs being introduced with a new update.

It's always important to minimize or hopefully eliminate new bugs while squashing ones that already exist. I'm not a programmer, but I know it can't be that easy to deal with, especially with a complex piece of software like ACID.

It's sounds like you're the type that is willing to try betas. Have you tried contacting SoFo about it? (When you beta test, you agree that whatever happens, they are not held responsible for any damage done, like your installation of Windows being hosed.)

stusy, if i may say, this seems to be becoming an obsession with you. I think you need to relax and take life as it comes. As far as when to expect updates, well, my personal observations have been that often a .a release appears one or two months after the initial release, and then usually one or two more .b & .c releases over the next 6 months or so. Sometimes this doesn't happen. Noise Reduction is still at 2.0a because, well, frankly, it doesn't really need anything else fixed or added to it.

Checking for updates so often is just driving yourself crazy. Trust me ... whenever a new update is available it's announced here in the forums usually within a few minutes. There's no need to keep checking the updates page; you'll be informed of it in here.

Are you having unresolved problems with the versions you're using? If so, you haven't really shared them with us. Let us know what problems you're having and perhaps we can help you get around them. Most everyone here in the forums is getting productive work accomplished with the same versions of the software you're using. We're making it work. We can help you get it working too.
