Subject:2 sec delay when hitting keys

New to the whole Midi thing. I have a Yamaha DJX keyboard and hooked up my midi connections. When I hit the keys, there is a 2 sec delay. Very annoying and do not know how to fix it. My sound card is SOUNDMAX DIGITAL INTERGRATED AUDIO. If anyone can help me out here...greatly appreciated.

See my post a couple back about MIDI DELAY. Not sure how much help it will be as I am using a Soundblaster card. My problem was due to not having ASIO drivers. Installed them, then, selected them in the Audio Device Type box and perfect sync.

That's what's known as latency, I have that same soundcard in my computer, there is no fix or workaround other than getting a lower latency sound card, and believe me that my last option. Got an Audigy now, no latency to speak of. Whatever card you get, check to see what the latency is and download the lastest ASIO drivers.
