Which one would you recommend? Any personnal experiences with these two companies? Heard any good things *or* bugs about those? Thanks. |

Both cards are well liked. The 2496 has a midi interface. The Mia doesn't. M |

The Mia has balanced analog I/O, the 2496 is unbalanced. A consideration is also which mobo and chipset you're using. Make sure whatever you choose is compatible with your system. drbam |

I got ABIT KT-7 raid mobo, Athlon 1000 chipset... Would it be running better under Intel chip? |

When I bought my Mia, I sent Echo support an e-mail with my system specs to ask them if they thought it was compatible, or if they thought there might be conflicts. They said there wouldn't be a problem with my set-up...and they were right. It's just that now I wish I had a midi interface...:( Keep in mind also that in MOST head to head comparisons in magazines, the quality of sound from the Mia exceeds that of the 2496. M |

i went for the Audiophile because it has Midi I/O, and i didn't want to get a seperate midi controller. so far i have no complaints at all, and it beats my previous card, the SB Live, in every aspect. of course, that's isn't too hard, and i'm positive the MIA will sound just as good as the Audiophile, or perhaps even better. :) |

I went for the Audiophile because it had MIDI I/O as well. The Mia has 1/4" TRS (balanced) I/O and S/PDIF I/O. The Audiophile has RCA phono (analog) I/O and S/PDIF I/O. True, the RCA's (and the S/PDIF on both cards) are unbalanced, but shouldn't be too much of a problem for most users, if ever. Both cards are very comparable. If you already have a MIDI interface such as a Midisport, go for the Mia. If you want to replace your existing MIDI interface (or even just add onto it), go for the Audiophile. In the end, you really can't go wrong with either choice. HTH, Iacobus |

thanks for comments! Think I'll go with the MIA since I don't really need Midi as of right now... thanks again |
