Subject:Simple (should be) task on Acid Music 3.0

95% of the reason that I purchased this product was to do the following: 1. Record an entire album (vinyl) 2. Split the results into individual files, adding fade-in and fade-out where necessary and even 'pinching' out the vinyl pops 3. Burning the entire album to CD with the songs in the proper order 4. Save the song files to hard disk as .WAV and/or .MP3 files I also need to be able to perform tasks 2-4 with existing .WAV and .MP3 files. I have four problems with Music 3.0 that don't allow me to do the above: 1. I can't get an edit screen to zoom in enough to edit out the unwanted data before the beginning of the song or after the end. Because of this I haven't even tried the fade-in or fade-out. 2. If I load in existing .WAV or .MP3 files, they come in blank (silence) 3. I have a blank CD-R in my drive but the "Create CD" option does not see it; the only option I have is the "Cancel" button 4. Nothing I do seems to allow for "Render..."; the option stays grayed out If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Everything that I bought this product for does not seem to work. Thanks in advance. |

It's been a long time since I've worked in Acid Music, but if I remember correctly you should be able to zoom in as much as you need. Are you using the zoom tools in the lower right hand corner (+/-)? I have no idea why you can't load wav's. That's kind of weird. Are you using the latest build of Music? Regarding your CD problems, I'm not sure. But you should know that you won't be able to burn your entire CD with track markers without a few seconds gap in between songs without something like Nero or CD Architect (the former being much cheaper). Acid music only does Disk at once burning. |

Did you "paint" the wave files? Left mouse button while on the timeline and move the mouse towards the right. Did you check in the preferences of Acid to make sure your burner was selected as the burning device? M |

Thanks "MyST" for the paint tip. I'm still getting used to the editing (I'm used to "Cooledit"), and I still haven't figured out how to quickly dice up a recorded track into the individual songs (from an entire album side). Any hints? As for the burning device question, it only seems to happen sometimes. I was trying to load some .WAV files that apparently it didn't like (though other programs can read them) and it seemed to screw up the CD burning and the Rendering functions. |

Your wave files need to be 16/44.1 in order to burn I believe. That might be part of the problem why some files aren't loading in Acid Music. Could it be you're trying to load 24 bit wave files in Acid? M |

Thanks "spectre1" for the zoom tips; they worked. I'm still not used to the editing tools and buttons (I'm used to CoolEdit 2000). The .WAV files turned out to be Windows .WAV format rather than Microsoft format (don't know what the difference is). Some products can read them and some can't. Fortunately, CoolEdit can read and convert them. |
