I have recordings of people speaking. As I edit them and burn them to CD's the "S" sound seems to get stronger and is very pronounced in the final CD. People sound like they have a lisp. The "T" sound seems to get exagerated as well. I'm using Sound Forge and Nero Burning to make the CD's. What can I do? |

Somewhere along the line, there's too much "top end" (treble) at a guess. Either that, or you're recording at too high a level - sibilant sounds are the first thing to fall victim to over-modulation. If the original source was okay, transfer them again at a lower level. If the original source is now destroyed, use the EQ facilities in SF to reduce the harshness, and maybe try using Clipped Peak Restoration to improve the sound. I'm not convinced that this will work - the problem may be a mismatch somewhere, but it may work. I look forward to reading other replies to your post...! |

If your wave file sounds good so should the CD. Some CD burning applications such as Ahead's Nero 5 has some tools which may somehow be engaged. |
