I just found this looking into being able to encode the AC-3 files into a stereo wave. It gives a step by step of how to burn an AC-3 file to a CDR and be able to play it back in a DVD player and play back 5.1 surrond mixes. Good news..no DVDR needed if you're like myself and haven't taken the plunge yet!!! http://www.kellyindustries.com/diy_5_1.html |

Red According to Mike Sokol, the article author, the key to doing this is to produce a valid AC-3 file as a WAV file before making a Red Book Audio CD with the file. Has anyone else tried this with SF products, such as CD Architect, AC-3 Encoder or Vegas 4+DVD? The AC-3 encoder provided with Vegas 4 +DVD produces files with an ac3 suffix. Is the a way to get CD Architect 5 to accept an AC-3 file produced by Vegas 4+DVD? Mike's procedure to produce a DVD readable CD-R to play Dolby Digital 5.1 encoded material. Bill |
