I have an old copy of Acid pro ver 2 and I haven't used it in a while. I just installed it the other day and when I try to select loops in the explorer, it keeps telling me that my WAV files are invalid media types!!! this has never happened before! I had it installed and working fine on the same OS (WIN2K) about a year ago... the only thin I can think is there is a conflict somewhere in the latest win2k service pack that I just recently installed. I downloaded acid express 3.0g from this web site, but it doesn't even display the wav loops in the explorer unless I choose list all files... has ANYBODY ever seen this before and knows whats up? thanks |

The first thing I'd do would be to a search for wavplug.dll (default location is C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-ins\File Formats), and then drag and drop it onto the ACID 2.0 interface, choosing Yes to register it (not sure why it would've become unregistered in the first place...). If that doesn't work, I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling ACID 2.0. HTH, Joel |

I don't know if this has anything at all to do with it, but I got that same error when I tried to retrieve a wave file into Cool Edit when I still had Chainer loaded/running audio through my Mia with ASIO drivers. When I closed Chainer (and later realized all I had to do was Stop Audio to release the driver), the error went away. It's my understanding that you can't have two different apps trying to use an ASIO driver at the same time. |
