Required NET Framework Components

In previous thread was told that all that was needed was net framework redistributable, but on MS site it appears that this needs a SP2 update. It also appears that you need Microsoft Data Components Access 2.7, which contains among other things SQL Server which would also need the recent security update. Do I need all this or it it correct that you just need net.redistributable. Have 98SE. Anyone install to this OS?

Here are some MS links: http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/productinfo/sysreqs/default.asp

I’m using Windows Me and I believe I just went to Windows Update, clicked on .NET Framework and rebooted the machine when it was done. I don’t remember installing any other components. Perhaps Windows Update took care of that for me?

On this 98SE machine scripting works with just the .NET Framework installed.

I have since updated it to the SP2 version, but it worked OK with just the initial release as far as I could tell.
