while re-organizing my audio folders i've had to open several acid projects to hear if they are safe to delete.

when i come across those that are no longer needed, i close acid and then delete the project folder right?

wrong. i get a sharing violation error when i execute the delete command.

this only happens after i've previewed the files in acid. if i preview the files in another app, then close the app i have no problem deleting the files.

am i alone or is this something you have experienced as well?

whats the fix?

Have you tried just right-clicking the folder in the Explorer in ACID and select Delete? That will send the folder to the recycle bin netherworld pronto. :)

Maybe not the ideal solution, but...
Why don't you listen to all the folders, write down the ones you want to delete. Once that's done, shut down Acid and reboot the PC. You should be able to delete after that. I've seen some programs take longer than others to "release".

thanks guys.

selecting and deleting 40 files from a project within the acid explorer is not the efficient way for me to sort through 200+ projects. nor is rebooting but the solution has been found:

after identifying projects that are safe to delete, i open a known keeper and bodda bing, acid releases its grip thus allowing me to delete the obsolete.

it took awhile to figure that out but thats what happens when one searches for an easier way.
