Do you really want to bring politics into these forums? The threads get messy really fast! There was a joke posted in the Vegas forums and it took maybe 4 postings before people started arguing. M |

Let's see, we're facing catastrophic losses in an imminent domestic terrorist attack, Bush is about to get us feet-first into 'Nam II, N Korea has the ability to take out half the West Coast of the US at anytime...and...SOFO may not exist in a couple of weeks. I'd say these are unusual times requiring unusual solutions. Defending the etiquette and decorum of this particular software forum at this particular time is a bit like sending the soup back in the Titanic's restaurant because it tastes a bit salty. The root problem is that the kitchen is underwater. I say, get on deck, find a lifeboat with a 120v jack and a few fellow loopers, and enjoy the ride. |

No. I did not expect an answer. Just passing along info. And, frankly, I don't think of this as "politics." It's bigger than that. |

Agreed, politics wasn't the right word, but it's all I could think of at the time. World affairs might be better. It's just that I like to come here to exchange with fellow SoFo users, partly because it's a good "out". Now IT's coming here too. Also Diane, I've followed many of your posts, and you've earned my respect through those posts. Understand that no personal attacks were intended. As I mentioned, someone on the Vegas forums posted a link to a prank Bush speech, and it turned sour. As someone with two teenage daughters, I fully understand the severity of these recent events. I just prefer to try to keep them out of my "relaxation time" here exchanging with you all. I've explained myself, so now I'll leave this thread. I just wanted to give friendly advice. M |

Myst, thank you for the friendly advice. I've just been so stirred up over these issues, and have felt so impotent, that when I encounter something I/we can do--however small--I sometimes feel compelled to pass it along. (I'm guilty--but only once!--of having done that with "virus threats" entailing deleting necessary Windows files! HOO!) I "go" so few places to share with folks...and things are pretty intense right now. Intensity tends to cloud one's usual judgment. I guess we should all bear that in mind. So everyone here, forgive me if I was out of line for posting. I DID put "OT" on it, though...thinking those who did not want to read something that wasn't about Acid wouldn't read it. |

Actually, I thought it was entirely appropriate under the circumstances. Like to see a lot more that good citizenship in here! Some things are actually more important than a BSOD in AP 4.0...like a BSOD up in the sky. |
