Subject:Create an audio/video, etc CD playable in a CD player?

Maybe this isn't the best forum to post this question in, but here goes anyway. I want to burn a CD which will contain audio tracks (playable by simply inserting into an audio CD player), and mpeg1 encoded video files (playable by inserting into a computer CD drive), and also perhaps some other promotional materials (such as press kit info: photos, text files, etc.). I'm hoping to do this without having to purchase yet another Sonic Foundry tool (I have many, but I do not have CD Arch, and I do not plan on investing in it). Hopefully Sound Forge can do this? Perhaps EZ CD Creator, ... I've seen this done on a commercial audio CD before (I think it was called an "enhanced" CD). Thanks, Mark |

EZ CD Creator can do this. It's called a Mixed-Mode CD. All the files except the audio tracks are stored as track 1 on the CD. Since this track isn't an audio file, most all CD players except for a few ancient ones will skip over it and start playing at track 2 which is your first audio file. When inserted into a CD-ROM drive, this first track will be visible as a standard directory and can contain an auto-start file. |
