I can't get it to work either - just think they forgot to allow this or maybe don't think we should be changing - the manual highlights customizing for avi settings only - whassup? don't they know we love to tweak?

Thats strange, especially because I can customize the mpeg 1 settings. I think something is amiss.

Do you guys mean that there is nothing showing up on the first tab? All that seems to be missing from my VV4 custom setting is on the project tab, I dont have motion blur any more. The rest of the tabs seem to be all there, although I havent used them yet.

Maybe it only works if you have Dvd Architect. But I sure hope it's not meant to be that way.

If you have the full (purchased) version of Vegas 4, MPEG should work just like it does in Vegas 3. If it doesn't work, it is a bug.

Try uninstalling Vegas 4, delete the contents of :\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\File Formats\MCMPEG, reinstall Vegas 4, and register Vegas again.

Okay, after having both vv3 and vv4 on different hard drives now for about a day, it's like my vegas 4 suddenly "learned" to properly read the mpeg plugins - I now can get into custom template settings for both mpg1 and mpg2 from vegas 4 like I could with vegas 3 before - maybe when you install side-by-side or on top of older version, there's a bit of confusion?

Just want to emphasize I DID NOT REINSTALL OR DO ANYTHING TO TWEAK - THE PROBLEM HAS JUST SEEMED TO MIRACULOUSLY "FIX ITSELF" AFTER SWITCHING BACK AND FORTH FROM VV3 TO VV4 AND REIMPORTING PROJECTS, ETC.

Sorry, folks - I know this sounds a bit "superstitious" but the fact is, I can now see custom screen inside vv4 and I couldn't this morning.

I'm not bummed out anymore.

Mine too was fixed after I uninstalled Vegas and used RegCleaner to remove all references of Sonic Foundry from my registry.
