The printed manual is a SEPARATE ORDER. It is not included in the box - you have to order it separately.

The packaged versions include a Quick Start guide, which is a portion of the manual. The entire manual is avaiable for download, and is on the CD, and can be ordered online from us or eNovel. You can also take the .pdf file to Kinkos and get it printed and bound there.

Once you've been here awhile and ordered a few things via download...you get to know where to look. :)
If you need to find a manual for a specific product, go to the downloads section of this site, but check out the downloadable demos. You'll usually find the manual available for download on the same page as the product you're interested in.

The printed manual for Vegas is not yet available from eNovel, but it should be available sometime in March. Our printed manuals are not sold direct from Sonic Foundry, rather through the company eNovel (www.enovel.com). The manuals can always be downloaded from us directly, in .pdf form, and then printed out at home or brought into Kinko's for their printing and binding services.

Just a quick complement to SoFo for having EXCELLENT manuals and online help. I'm maybe one of the rare breed that always read computer manuals cover to cover and also works his way through the wealth of articles in the application's help system.

Somone, probably several people slaved long and hard on the manual and the on-line help too. While the guys that write the application code get a lot of well deserved kudos for an excellent application, so too should the guys/gals writing the instructions. Maybe its the same guys/gals since SoFo is a fairly small shop.

Whatever... nice job.

Jdodge,

I think it should be mentioned that the eNovel manuals are printed in black and white (except for the covers), while the downloadable PDF is in full color. Also, the Vegas 4 manual I downloaded has only 46 pages. Is their a big Vegas 4 manual out there, or is this manual meant to be used in conjunction with the big Vegas 3 manual?

The Vegas 4 manual is 318 pages long and can be downloaded at: http://www.sonicfoundry.com/download/step2.asp?DID=441

JetDV,

Thanks. I downloaded the manual. My Vegas 4 Manual has 314 pages. Did you do a typo when you said 318 pages, or did you somehow get a longer manual? My Vegas 3 Manual has 363 pages. I had previously downloaded the Vegas 4.0 New Features manual, with 46 pages. I am still curious why the Vegas 4 manual has 49 fewer pages. If anything, I would have expected more pages.

They cut out the tutorial section in Version 4. Not sure why; I found the section very useful when first learning Vegas.

Yes, it should have been 314.
