i am trying to sync my roland XP 80 to Acid 3...with bad results. After setting Acid such that sync. was clearly working the roland sequencer very quickly moves out of time.Band in a box syncs the roland fine.I'm using Win 2000 with all the updates and running the midi set up through a USB midiman midi sport 2X2.Any thoughts?

Is ACID the master? ACID likes to be the master in any sync situation.

i dont know if its any help to u ,but acid 4 doesnt like usb midi very much - if u have an onboard soundcard with a midi port try using that instead - if not try finding a cheapo sb and check it out. I have the midisport too and its been giving me a hard time too - but at least i have 3 other audiocards and they all have midi on board so np for me - cheers

dear sgig
i have exactly the same problems with the korg electribe sequencers, i am using an audiophile card for midi so it cant be the usb problem.
i have had sync problems with acid since version 2.
the electribes sync perfectly with cubase but in acid they noticibly fall out of time the drums and you can hear it badly.
i have contacted sf and they claim that they have no sync problems with external midi gear. I have even tried a different machine using MPU compatible midi which is usually very stable and accurate but still suffer drifting.
cubase sx provides rock solid external sync - if i run drums on the external sequencer they will run exactly in sync and over drums in cubase.

Agent S and sqiq hi . For Agent i have to say that the Electribe series are trully not really stable in syncing and thats true . I ve been tryin to synchronize the Electribe drummachine with the Roland 1680 and somewhere in the middle it would lose the sync when it was slave. It seems to me that because of the fact that Acid doesnt like being slave and the Electribe is behaving similar u r having these problems . And really Acid syncs just fine when it's master - Acid 3 synced perfectly with my Roland and Korg sequencers - i never had any problem. Acid 4 syncs just fine when u r using a hardware midi port but not with usb under WinXP - maybe it syncs under win98 or winMillenium . So for sqiq now - i would try syncing Acid and the XP80 like this. Acid as the master transmitting midi clock and Xp 80 as slave receiving midi clock from a hardware midi port. If u havent used this configuration try also the midi sport with it - might work - hope i gave u someinfo . Cheers
