So does anyone know of a good electric/lead guitar soft synth or VSTi that actually sounds like an electric guitar? Looking to incorporate that sound with my midi keyboard in Acid. Thanks!

What skot said is right. However, Plucked String is also capable of dry electric guitar sounds (bass too) that you can add overdrive or distortion effects to (eg, DSound DT1, PSP Vintage Warmer).

I downloaded that Slayer demo and that thing is sweet! As soon as I can get a midi interface to work right with my computer, Slayer is next on my list!

virtual guitarist is the most realistic guitar vsti ever.
slayer has great bass sounds but sounds cheesy when compared to v.g. elec. or acou. guitar.
vg isnt perfect but its convinceing. to my ears slayer does not sound convincing, it's a cool plugin but you know its not guitar from the first second you hear it.

Thanks for the VG info(feedback).....been waiting to hear a SoFo app users opinion on that one. Sixty bucks for Slayer? Is that right?
I'm going to start saving for VG!

Can't be of much help here. I record and make my own guitar loops/tracks. :(

But it beats any VSTi out there! :)

Yeah, I kinda envy you folks who can sing, play/record/sample acoustic instruments.
I used to play piano. Once owned a Yamaha CP-80, but now it's pretty much a MIDI and Virtual Instrument world for me. I'm glad I finally got into computers: )....Uhhhh,
at least I think I'm glad....$$$ ; (

I see Guitar Center has VG on sale.....hmmmm.
Wonder if there be a Virtual Vocalist soon? $$$$$$$$
