Subject:Sound Forge 6.0 Metering?

How is the metering in Sound Forge 6.0? I recently downloaded the demo version of WaveLab 4.0; & was really impressed with the Level/Pan Meter, which displays Peak & RMS values (as well as Pan values.) If SF 6.0 metering is this good, I would probably do the upgrade (since I like the waveform display in SF better.)

Thanks in advance,

mark4man

BTW - Still out-to-school though, on the comparison of mastering functions between the two.

Unfortunately, Wavelab has Sound Forge pretty well beat in the metering department. Sound Forge currently only offers a peak meter. More metering options are being considered for 7.0.

Sonic,

Thanks for the response (I always forget to return to the board, due to lack of e-mail reply notification.)

I actually think SF 6.0 was a grand slam...

Sound Forge 7?

I had hoped Sonic was considering THE ultimate audio editing tool and combine Sound Forge, CD Architect and Vegas Audio into one great application!

Using Sound Forge as an external audio editor in CDA is a real pain, and misscredit SF as the innovative audio company they actually are. (If you don't believe me, try to do SF editing on a [wma] compressed file in CDA)

And now I am mentioning THE ultimate audio tools, I miss an 'inline' mixer where I can route the soundcards inputs through FXs and send it directly to the outputs. I several times have wanted to use such an application, but only Sonar and SX have this feature - but are all to complicated to set up for this simple feature!
