Iacobus - You were alot of help with my sound card situation, thanks again. But after playing around with it a few hours last night, I ran into a few other issues. First off, I think you're right about the ASIO drivers. I tried everything possible to get a sound out of my PC speakers while running instruments into the Delta 44, but had no luck what so ever.... I was definately getting a full signal into ACID but I could not hear what I was doing until I played it back. So should I just scratch the idea of using my PC speakers or was I getting close? Now, to test the outputs on the Delta I simply plugged a pair of headphones into the Delta outs, fixed output settings in ACID, etc... and still got nothing..... Is there something I am over looking? Am I going to need another pre-amp to for the Delta outputs? (another $200 I'm sure eh?) One last question..... on my "record" pallete, when selecting my input device, there are 12 to choose from for the Delta alone (M Audio 44 1/2, Mono-Left Channel, Mono-Right Channel, 44 Multichannel, Multi-Channel-Mono-Left, Multi-Channel-Mono-Right, ETC.....) -------- you get the point.... I tried them all and got reasonable sound levels on some of them, but which one of these am I suppose to use? Or does it matter? Totally confused here. Okay enough! If you could shed some light on this I would appreciate it. Thanks again. Tommy |

Hi again Tommy, You will need to monitor what's coming out of the Delta itself when you're recording as I've mentioned before; you will not hear anything otherwise, even if you have your onboard sound set for playback. (ACID treats each audio interface as a device unto itself.) So that means you will have to physically connect some sort of monitoring device to the Delta. You will, indeed, have to get an amp of some sort, as the Delta will only pass the signal along and does not amplify it. You could pick up a mixer like this one and it should work for you just fine (not to mention you'll get mic preamps on top of it). You would simply specify only the inputs that you're using. For example, if you're using inputs 1 and 2, you would specify something like, "Delta 44 Multichannel 1/2." If only input 1 is being used, you would specify something like, "Delta 44 Multichannel (Mono, Left Channel)." I believe there's also an option called, "Mon. Mixer," which is used when the Mixer in the Delta Control Panel is active. The same rules apply. Let me know if you need more help. HTH, Iacobus |
