Previewed Acid loops very slow to trigger -ACID Product Family

Subject:Previewed Acid loops very slow to trigger Posted by: Kyoto Date:2/8/2003 12:00:27 AM Just got a new DAW. P4 with XP, made for audio. Aardvark Aark 24 card. Vegas Video and Sound Forge work great but in Acid 4.0, when I go to preview a loop from any Sonic Foundry Acid Lood CD, it sometimes takes 5 to 15 seconds to play the loop. Occasionally, a few in a row will preview quickly, other times, next to the project title at the top of the screen, it will say "program not responding". It's not a total crash - the loop eventually plays but sure takes awhile. On my old 400 PII machine with Acid 1.0 the loops previewed almost instantly! This, by the way, is using the ASIO drivers. Anyone know what's up?

On my machine, it has to do with the size of the loop. Some big loops take a while to load.
