Is there a way to insert an audio file as a paste instead of having to paint it?

I'm interested in the answer to this myself. I expect it's going to be "no."

Were you aware that you can quickly paint an entire track? With the paint tool selected and snapping on, hold down the Ctrl key and click at the start of the track, and the whole thing will be painted in, flushed to the start point. You can do this with midi files, too.

Cool suggestion!
btw, I have never found a way to insert a track w/o painting it in. I'm so used to it now, I don't think about it.

Realize,
In Vegas Video 3.0 when you insert an audio file the entire file is painted automatically

Say you want to drag a wave file into the timeline it creates a track...but no audio present untill "drawn". If you select the "paint" tool and crt+left click anywhere in the track for it to expose it all. Page 173 of the acid pro manual. Under "acid tip and tricks".

Is that what were asking for?

That works, but in Vegas it's automatic.

Thanks

Vegas and Acid are two entirely different applications. It makes sense that in Vegas a track would be painted in completely by default, because it is not a looping application. Acid expects the user to draw in loops, so it makes sense that it would not draw in the file automatically since one would then have to "undraw" it.

hm just import the wav and select the new track. open (the wav in) the chopper window and select the whole wav with a doubleklick - just press insert now. just be sure the cursor in the track window is at the place u want to insert the whole wave ;-)
