Is it my final version of 4.0 ? LOL-----Is it an announcement that Sonic will retain Vegas, Sound Forge and Acid? and has big plans ahead? Is it my lost refund check? Is it one of my ten rebate checks I have been waiting for for the last six months?

Welll.. Checked all my email accounts, again -- only thing new after wadeing through the spam is an offer from Adobe.

OK, I figured it out - the SNAIL MAIL box - a new Sonic Foundry flyer with UPGRADE pricing listed!
PAW wrote on 2/4/2003, 10:51 AM

I have not seen it - can you share it with us.
stepfour wrote on 2/4/2003, 10:54 AM
No, no, don't share it. I want the envelope. I have instructed my dog to bark "4" times when the postman starts up the walkway this afternoon. Looking forward to the kind of moment wcoxe1 had earlier.

I'm in the UK, it will take too long

2Road - don't look at the next update to this post - JetDV give me 5 minutes to read it and then delete it for 2Roads sake.

Ever wondered what it used to feel like at Christmas when you were a kid :-)

Well, M, you apparently got the joke. ;)
vonhosen wrote on 2/4/2003, 11:21 AM
If that is it
It's what I feared for those of us who wanted DVD Architect but already have the ac-3 encoder. You'd have to pay for it twice !
MyST wrote on 2/4/2003, 11:24 AM
LOL!! It's amazing how we could so easily have more sexual stamina, bigger ****s, clear all our debts, and earn thousands of dollars while surfing the net!

Yes, I still hold out hope that the email offers will contain an option for those of us who already bought the AC3 plug-in. If not, well...it would be my first bad SOFO exprerience.
Jdodge wrote on 2/4/2003, 1:47 PM
Hey, if something doesn't jive well with you, and you are a long standing customer, give us a call or shoot us an email. We take good care of our customers. Don't always assume we are out to take advantage of you. That attitude can run rampant in these forums, and it just isn't the truth.
rique wrote on 2/4/2003, 2:19 PM
That's good to hear. :-) These forums have been mum on the DVD+ upgrade for existing AC3 owners until your note. Thanks for the loyal customer support!

stusy wrote on 2/4/2003, 2:30 PM
Hey man, it's better than Cake support hands-down, and there was a time they weren't too shabby either...sofo's support is 2d to none, and I'm not a name-dropper; it's shorter waiting and knowledgable; most everyone I talked with is a user of alot of differing music apps, not just sofo...
David_Kuznicki wrote on 2/4/2003, 4:08 PM
You know what the *best* part is? SoFo usually offers an even better upgrade price in the first 30 days of a product release. I mean, don't get me wrong-- $200 is PERFECTLY reasonable for the upgrade (I don't have a DVD burner & am stunned by the amount of incombatibility issues from the people I know that DO), but hey, if SoFo wants to make it cheaper, then I'll get some Acid loops, too.

Damn, I wish it didn't take so long for things to get from SoFo to Toledo! Can't I have someone overnight me a catalog?! :)

Off to tell the wife what she's getting me for Valentine's Day...

David.
RixWare wrote on 2/4/2003, 5:24 PM
If AC-3 support is driving up the DVDA price so much, maybe SoFo should offer a version without it. Personally, I have no use for that technology, but I think DVDA is pretty cool (alas, not worth $200 though).

Frankly, I'm hoping for a better deal to appear in my email...

I totally agree with RixWare. Sell a version of DVD-A without the AC-3 encoder! You don't *need* it to burn DVDs. I've been using WAVs and MP2s. When I start making DVDs that have to be longer than 1.5 to 2 hours, and have surround speakers, then maybe I'd take the plunge for the encoder.
