I have sf ACID4.0. and A SB LIVE Plantinum5.1. I use a usb midi keyboard. When I try to record a midi track while playing an audio track. I only hear the audio. I can see the midi input monitor, but I don't hear the MIDI sound. After recording I can play both the audio track and the recorded MIDI track and hear both. I can understand that maybe the soundcard isn't able to play both midi direct and audio tracks. Is it an option to install my old SB Live soundcard and try 2 play audio tracks on the first one(soundcard1) an d midi on the second(soundcard2)? Would really appreciate you help Janor |

The Live! should be able to let you monitor what you're recording along with playback. Sounds like a mixer issue. Have you tried recording digital audio (instead of MIDI) while playing back? Iacobus |

In the record screen, you need to have your midi thru drop down box set to whatever you want to here. You also need to have "real time midi" enabled. Merlyn |

I tried everything you and mD said, but still no luck. Maybe this has something to do with me using the soundfont banks?? I can't pull out the midi thru, cause i do'nt have that. I'me only able to HEAR midi when A device (the keyboard from creative, cubase or any other software enables the soundbanks). By the way in cubase all this works fine( but cubase vst32 sucks with audio editing). |

Could be. Still, if you're trying to use a VSTi, try checking out an earlier post of mine to see if that helps. HTH, Iacobus |
